Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies brillQ uses on brillq.today and how you can control them. In short: analytics cookies are set only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, and we use no marketing cookies. How we handle personal data in general is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, also keep information between page views. In this policy we call all of them “cookies” for short.
2. Cookies on this website
Without your consent we store only your cookie choice itself (cookieConsent, in your browser’s local storage, after you click Accept or Decline). In addition, when you open the Contact tab and our form spam protection is active, Google reCAPTCHA may set or read cookies on Google’s own domains, such as _GRECAPTCHA. We use reCAPTCHA on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the forms from spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. What we do not use
- No marketing or advertising cookies.
- No functional or preference cookies.
- No LinkedIn Insight Tag or other social media tracking.
- No other trackers.
4. Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We load it only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
It tells us which pages are visited, where visitors come from and which devices they use. Google Analytics 4 anonymizes IP addresses by default: it does not log or store them. Ad storage and ad personalization are disabled in our setup. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for no longer than 14 months.

5. Managing your choice
On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. You can choose “Accept” or “Decline”. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key cookieConsent (not a cookie) until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookies” button in the bottom-left corner of every page. If you decline after accepting, we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies on our domain. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before.

- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
6. Transfers outside the EEA
Google may process data in the USA. Where the recipient is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, transfers are based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023. Otherwise they are based on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at hello@brillq.today.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies we use or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
